According to Delhi Police, emails containing bomb threats were received in nine schools in the national capital on Monday morning. The threats were received via email between 8:30 and 9:00 am. As soon as the information was received, Delhi Police, Fire Department and bomb disposal squad were immediately sent to the affected schools.

Three schools in South Delhi have received bomb threats. These include Air Force School, K.R., located on Lodhi Road. Mangalam School and The Indian School located at Sadiq Nagar.

Other schools that have received bomb threat emails include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School in Srinivasanpuri, Venkateswara School in Rohini, Cambridge School in New Friends Colony, CM School in Rohini, DTA School in INA and Bal Bharati School in Rohini. Further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, officials said that on January 28, emails containing bomb threats were received in 30 schools in the Chandigarh Union Territory, following which prompt security action was taken by police and emergency services.

According to Chandigarh Police, the threatening emails were sent to 22 private schools and eight government schools. As soon as the information was received, anti-sabotage teams, bomb disposal squads, local police forces, fire brigade, ambulance and PCR teams were immediately dispatched to the respective schools and a thorough investigation of the concerned school premises was carried out.

A statement said that after a detailed investigation, no suspicious or explosive material was found.

“As a precautionary measure, regular deployment of police force will be ensured in and around schools from January 29, 2026, to avoid any untoward incident and ensure smooth and safe functioning of educational institutions in the Union Territory of Chandigarh,” the police said in an official statement.

In connection with this incident, an FIR has been registered under sections 113(3), 351(4) and 62 of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS) as well as section 66F of the Information Technology Act at Police Station Sector 17.
