United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to India Abdulnasir Alshali has clarified his position on regional tensions and attacks by Iran. He said that Iran launched hundreds of missile and drone attacks targeting civilian areas, but the situation in UAE is completely stable and under control. The ambassador stressed that the Emirates have shown great restraint during this period, but the country is prepared in every way for its security. The UAE’s air defense systems have successfully thwarted most threats.
What is the latest situation regarding Iran’s attacks and UAE’s security?
Ambassador Alshali said that from 28 February 2026 to 30 March 2026, a series of attacks from Iran have been observed. The main targets of these attacks were civilian infrastructure such as airports, residential areas and energy centers. However, the UAE Defense Forces have taken precise action to protect its sovereignty. He also clarified that essential services like electricity, water, hospitals and supply chain are working normally in the country without any interruption.

India has supported United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, which demands an immediate stop to these attacks. The UAE has already closed its embassy in Tehran and recalled its diplomats. Under the UN Charter, the UAE has the full legal right to self-defence and stop aggression.
