A total of 60.40 percent voting has been recorded till 3 pm today in the second and final phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. This figure is according to the latest official data from the Election Commission (ECI), which is approaching 64.66 percent of the first phase. The voting process, which began at 7 am in 20 districts spread across 122 assembly constituencies, will continue till 6 pm, and counting of votes will take place on November 14. A total of 3.70 crore voters, including 1.75 crore women, are casting their votes today at 45,399 polling stations.

According to the Election Commission, the key figures till 3 pm are as follows:
Kishanganj: 66.10% (highest) Purnia: 64.22% Katihar: 63.80% Jamui: 63.33% Banka: 63.03% Nawada: 53.17% (lowest) Madhubani: 55.55%
By 1 pm, 47.62% voting had taken place and by 11 am, 31.38% voting had taken place, which is 3% more than the first phase. East Champaran recorded 48.01%, Rohtas 45.19%, and Supaul 48.22%. The voting percentage of women was also notable, which shows the impact of schemes like Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana.
Major events and statements of leaders
NDA claims: JDU leader Nitish Kumar visited the party office in Patna and said, “The wave of development will take Bihar to new heights.” BJP candidate Krishnanandan Paswan (Harsiddhi) expressed confidence of victory by 50,000 votes. Grand alliance’s emphasis: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav criticized ECI for not releasing gender-wise data of the first phase. Congress leader Takir Alam said, “There is a wave of change, we need freedom from 20 years of ‘sick’ government.” Other Highlights: Bhojpuri singer Pawan Singh’s wife Jyoti Singh (Karkat, Independent) claimed public support. The reputation of former Deputy CM Tara Kishore Prasad in Katihar and Commonwealth Games shooter Shreyasi Singh in Jamui is at stake.
Challenges and security
The Election Commission strictly enforced the ‘silence period’, while the ban on exit polls remained in place till 6:30 pm on November 11. Dry days and border sealing implemented in districts bordering Nepal (West Champaran, Araria etc.). Special facilities provided for senior citizens (85+) and disabled. EVM related complaints were received at some places, but ECI rejected them.
