Lucknow, February 1 (IANS). SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati have given sharp reactions on the Union Budget 2026. In their ex-post, both the leaders targeted the Modi government, calling the budget indifferent towards the interests of the common people, the poor and the Bahujans. Akhilesh Yadav termed the budget as BJP’s budget and said that its impact was immediately visible on the stock market, where there was a huge decline.
Akhilesh Yadav wrote in X Post, “The results of the BJP budget are here, the stock market has crashed. We had already said… the question is not that the stock market will open on Sunday, the question is how much more it will fall. When there is no expectation from the BJP government, then what will happen from its budget. We consider every budget of BJP as 1/20 (one divided twenty) budget because it is for 5 percent of the people. The budget of BJP, its commission and its people are set. There is a budget of BJP, there is no mention of common people in this budget, there is tax exploitation in this budget, but the expectations of the people suffering from unemployment are disappointing. Budget.”
BSP supremo Mayawati wrote in X Post, “In the budget brought by the Central Government today in the Parliament of the country, regarding the various schemes, projects, promises and assurances regarding their future results, it seems that their names are big, but at the ground level, it would be better if their philosophies were not small. That is why there should not only be talks in the interest of the entire society, but it is also necessary to implement them with the right intentions. However, the budget of the Central Government is in accordance with the policy and intention of the ruling party. There is a mirror of gait, character and face, through which one can get a glimpse whether the government’s thinking is actually pro-poor and Bahujan-friendly for the wider national interest or whether it is the supporter of big capitalists and rich people who nurture the capitalist thinking.”
He further said, “Not only this, but especially in the context of our country India, it also has special significance that if the government’s policy is self-reliance in the long run, then how much importance has been given to the government sector and what work has been done as per the sacred intention of the welfare constitution of the most respected Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. And in the same sequence, the budget presented today in the Parliament should also be seen to see whether this budget too is not going to be disappointing like the ones that have come and gone. And at the same time The question remains whether the claims, promises and expectations made by the government in last year’s budget have been fulfilled or whether there has been any change in the lives of the people in comparison to the GDP, which is directly related to the wider public interest and the government should also throw some light on this. So this is a good thing for the good days of the people otherwise who takes this responsibility.”
