New Delhi, December 25 (IANS). Regarding the current situation in Bangladesh, Congress leaders have demanded intervention from the Central Government and adoption of concrete policy. Purnia MP and Congress leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav termed it as sad and said that the incidents happening in Bangladesh should be stopped.
While talking to IANS, Pappu Yadav said, “I have never seen such a weak government anywhere in my life. If India shows strictness, it will affect Bangladesh. India and Bangladesh have historical and emotional relations, but at present, India’s foreign policy seems weak, due to which neighboring countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka have also started turning a blind eye.”
Pappu Yadav demanded the central government to call an all-party meeting and hold talks with the Bangladeshi representatives present in India.
At the same time, Congress leader Udit Raj made a sharp attack on the central government on the issue of atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh. He said, “There were protests in the embassies of Bangladesh and in Bengal, but instead of this, why were there no protests against the government of the country? Why is there no demand from the government to take direct action on Bangladesh?”
Udit Raj said that Bangladesh is a small country and the situation can be improved by putting pressure on it. He said, “If the Indian government takes strict steps, the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh can stop immediately.”
Let us tell you that there have been protests at many places in India against the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. Hindutva organizations also protested in West Bengal. Recently, after the murder of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh, the anger of Hindu organizations has increased further.
Das, 27, who worked in a garment factory in Bangladesh, was beaten and dragged to death on the streets by a mob in Mymensingh. Later the body of Dipu Das was tied to a tree and burnt.
