Congress is going to intensify its agitation against the allegations of alleged rigging in the electoral process and ‘vote theft’. Congress party will organize a big rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi today. Through this rally, Congress will put the government and the Election Commission in the dock, accusing them of collusion.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav said that workers from every booth will participate in the Congress mega rally to be held today. All concrete arrangements have been made for the Maharally. Tight security arrangements have been made in view of the event. Many senior Congress leaders including Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will address this rally.
Rahul Gandhi and Kharge will address the rally. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi are likely to address this rally. Apart from this, many senior leaders including Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh and Sachin Pilot will also be present on the stage. Former party president Sonia Gandhi is also expected to attend the rally.

Congress General Secretary (Organization) KC Venugopal said that the party has collected about 55 lakh signatures by running a campaign across the country against ‘vote theft’. He said, “Rahul Gandhi has shown with evidence how vote theft is taking place. He challenged the Home Minister for an open debate on this issue, but there was no response from the government.”
Venugopal said that after the rally, Congress will request to meet the President and submit a memorandum containing 5.5 crore signatures to him. The party says that this movement is to protect democracy and fair elections.

The rally is taking place just days after a heated debate between the government and the opposition in the Lok Sabha over electoral reforms and Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. Congress alleges that serious irregularities are taking place in the electoral processes.
Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi has claimed that lakhs of people will participate in this rally. He said that along with Congress workers from across the country, social workers will also gather at Ramlila Maidan. He also indicated that leaders of the constituent parties of the Grand Alliance may also participate in this rally.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that this rally is being organized with the slogan ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ because the Election Commission is not working in an impartial manner. At the same time, Bhupesh Baghel alleged that BJP and Election Commission together are weakening democracy.
