New Delhi, July 4 (IANS). The Delhi government on Saturday carried out a major administrative reshuffle in its Finance and Accounts Department, aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and efficiency in governance.
Under the transfer and posting policy, 52 officers, who were working on the same posting for five years or more, were transferred with immediate effect.
These transfers include 23 Deputy Controller of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers. Apart from this, 19 senior accounts officers have been promoted to the post of Deputy Controller of Accounts.
The Delhi government said the move is in line with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s commitment to transparent and accountable governance.
The objective of this reshuffle is to improve administrative efficiency, strengthen financial management and bring greater transparency, accountability and proactivity in the functioning of the Finance and Accounts Department in Delhi.
Under the new system, 19 senior accounts officers promoted will take up increased responsibilities as Deputy Controllers of Accounts in various departments of Delhi Government.
According to the Delhi government, these transfers and postings have been made purely on the basis of administrative exigencies, aimed at promoting honesty, transparency and efficiency in the system.
To further improve the administration, 23 Deputy Controllers of Accounts and 29 Senior Accounts Officers have also been assigned new responsibilities.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government is committed to creating an administrative system that maintains the highest standards of transparency, accountability, efficiency and good governance.
He stressed that there is no room for laxity, negligence or corruption at any level of governance.
The Chief Minister said that this major reshuffle in the Finance and Accounts Department is part of the broader effort of the Delhi Government to create a more accountable, result-oriented and citizen-centric work culture.
According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, timely decision-making, effective financial management and accountable administration will speed up the implementation of government schemes and also ensure that public services reach the people in a more transparent and efficient manner.
Delhi Government has directed all concerned officers to take charge at their new places of posting with immediate effect and discharge their responsibilities accordingly.
