Bhopal, May 27 (IANS). Lakhan Patel, Minister of State, Independent Charge, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, Madhya Pradesh, said that in the Self-reliant Gaushala Policy 2025 Gokul Dham Establishment Policy, it is mandatory to rear a minimum of five thousand cows, out of which 30 percent should be of milch breed. Minister Patel reviewed the work of the Cow Promotion Board under the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department. During this, he discussed in detail the proposals received in the tender issued under the Self-reliant Cowshala Policy 2025 Gokul Dham Establishment Policy and gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officials.
Minister of State Patel said that under the said policy, it is mandatory for the projects to rear a minimum of five thousand cows, out of which 30 percent should be of milch breed. He also said that for every 5000 cows, a maximum of 125 acres of government land will be given on the basis of right of use. On increase of additional 1000 cows, 25 acres of additional land will be given. Along with this, 5 acres of additional land can be given for commercial activities.
At the same time, according to the government policy, a grant amount of Rs 40 per cow per day is being given to the destitute cows. Minister of State Patel said that the main objective of the Policy 2025 for establishment of Madhya Pradesh Self-reliant Cowshala (Gokul Dham) is to prepare a model of large self-reliant cowsheds in the state, to make proper arrangements for the destitute cows, where they can be provided balanced diet, organized accommodation and necessary facilities.
Along with this, the aim is to make proper arrangements for more and more destitute cows at minimum cost on the budget, develop the land through projects of big cow shelters and prepare a chain of manufacturing and marketing of cow products through private participation. Apart from this, a favorable environment has to be created for private investment in new technologies for generating alternative energy.
Minister of State Patel said that self-reliant cow shelters will be established for the management of destitute cattle, utility increase and large scale business units. Cow rearing, milk processing, organic fertilizers, Panchgavya, bio-CNG, medicine and tourism will be promoted through private investment and participation. Cows of 30 percent high producing breed, milk production and processing industry will be promoted.
NP-rich organic fertilizer from cow dung and agricultural residues will increase soil fertility and production. Biogas, CNG and solar power plants; Promotion of new and renewable energy. Tourism will be promoted through cow sheds, display, management and processing located at picturesque places close to nature.
