Dehradun News: Many important decisions have been taken in the Uttarakhand cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday. The government approved several schemes for the development of the state and the welfare of the public, including important announcements from farmers to students and weaker sections of society.
‘Uttarakhand Aroma Revolution Policy 2026-2036’ for farmers
The cabinet took the biggest decision to the farmers, under which ‘Uttarakhand Aroma Kranti Policy 2036’ was approved. The goal of this policy is to promote the cultivation of aromatic crops in the state. In the first phase, 91,000 farmers will be linked to this scheme on 22,750 hectares of land. Farmers will also get huge subsidies at the cost of farming:
80% subsidy on cultivation up to 1 hectare
50% subsidy on cultivation of more than 1 hectare
This step will increase the income of the farmers of the state and they will be able to move from traditional crops to new and beneficial farming.
Important decisions also for education, housing and jail reform
The cabinet has also cleared important schemes for other areas:
Education: A state-of-the-art studio will be set up in the State Educational Research and Training (SCERT) to run the PM e-Vidya program providing free education to students. In addition, the posts of Assistant Teacher (Special Education) have been created for the education of children with special needs in government primary schools.
Accommodation: Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the government will bear an additional expenditure of Rs 27.85 crore in the construction of 1,872 affordable houses for the economically weaker sections in Rudhampur in Udham Singh Nagar district.
Gel Reform: The Uttarakhand Jail Administration and Reform Services Department have been restructured to improve the jail administration. The department has created several new posts including 2 women head wards, 22 women wards, 1 Additional Inspector General of Inspector General (Corrective Wing). Along with this, services of scavengers, gardeners and barber will also be availed through outsourcing in jails.
social welfare: The cabinet has also decided to continue various marriage grant schemes under the Social Welfare Department, which includes grants for the marriage of daughters of Scheduled Caste/Tribe daughters and widows.
