He said that India has always been a land of entrepreneurs and government schemes are helping in creating a proper framework to support them.
At the National Startup Day event, Prime Minister Modi said, “Today we are celebrating the milestone of completion of 10 years of Startup India. This journey of 10 years is not just the story of the success of a government scheme, it is the journey of dreams of millions of people like you.”

Samuel John, co-founder and CEO of MistEO, said India has always been a land of entrepreneurs, and these initiatives are helping create a proper framework to support them.
“I was very excited to meet the Prime Minister in person and explain to him about our capabilities, the potential of our products and their potential impact on society as well as the government machinery,” Commander (Retd) Sudheesh TM, CTO of MistEO, told news agency IANS.
He further added, “I am grateful to the Startup India Mission that made this possible. It was a great interaction with them. Prime Minister Modi listened attentively to our explanations about our projects and products and he also asked questions. It was truly a memorable and inspiring experience.”
According to Neha Chauhan, CEO and Co-Founder, Aerobay, receiving the ‘Startup India National Startup Award’ is a dream come true for any entrepreneur.
“We have been waiting for this moment for a long time, and I still can’t believe it. I am confident that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a wonderful initiative through various schemes, be it the Startup India Fund scheme or the Nidhi Prayas scheme,” he told news agency IANS.
Prime Minister Modi told in the program that India has emerged as the third largest startup ecosystem in the world in just ten years. The number of startups was less than 500 in 2014, which has increased to more than two lakh today. At the same time, the number of unicorns has increased from four to about 125. Indian startups are continuously launching IPOs, creating jobs and attracting attention from investors globally.
Devika Chandrasekaran, Founder and MD of Fuselage Innovations Private Limited, said that when we started the company, there were only two members in our team. This startup is solving serious challenges of the agriculture sector.
Chandrasekaran said, “The idea for the startup came to us after the floods in our area, which inspired us to develop solutions for farmers. We have created two drones to solve problems like crop damage and plant treatment methods.”
According to Arun Pandit, co-founder and CEO of Hyphen SCS, it is a proud moment for him. We have won many awards in India and abroad, but to receive this honor at the national level is very emotional. We are extremely proud and our team is fully prepared to take India’s innovations to the global stage.
