John Ternes is currently Apple’s Senior Vice President (Hardware Engineering). He is responsible for all of Apple’s hardware teams, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, and AirPods. 50-year-old John is being considered as the successor to Tim Cook.

John Ternes started his career with Apple in 2001. He joined the product design team there. Climbing the ladder of success, he became the Vice President of Hardware Engineering in 2013. In 2021, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, since then he heads the Hardware Engineering department. Over the years, he has become a prominent figure at Apple events.
