A special procedure has been devised to name the storms that occur in the Indian Ocean. Under this process, if a storm is suspected, 13 members, including India, give a special name to the storm based on their numbers alphabetically. This time it was Myanmar’s turn to name the storm. He named the storm Taucate. It means very noisy lizard.
These countries of the Indian Ocean have also decided the names of future storms, so if a storm comes in the near future, it will be called Yash, then the name of the next storm will be Gulab. The list of names was released in April last year. This list is made for the next 25 years. In this list, India has registered names like Tejas, Gati, Murasu (Tamil musical instrument), Aag, Neer, Prabhanjan, Dhurni, Ambuda, Jaladhi, Vegetarian. While Bangladesh has named Arnab, Pakistan Lulu, Qatar Shaheen and Bahar.
