Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for India on Monday after a successful visit to China to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. During his visit, he also held bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi described the visit as “productive” and explained how he emphasized India’s situation on major global issues.

He wrote, “Closing a useful journey to China. There I attended the SCO Summit and interacted with various world leaders. Also emphasized India’s stand on major global issues. President Xi Jinping, Gratitude to the Chinese government and people for the successful organization of this summit.”

Prime Minister Modi during his bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that cooperation between New Delhi and Moscow is important for global peace, stability and prosperity.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attended the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, where he called for action against the funding and fundamentalism of terrorism.

He attracted attention to the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam and urged the group to hold and support the countries that promote and support it across the border. He also congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the presiding of the SCO.

SCO development strategy, improvement in global rule, anti-terrorism, peace and security, economic and financial support and sustainable development were used in the summit.

Addressing the summit, Prime Minister Modi highlighted India’s approach to strengthening cooperation under the SCO structure. In this regard, he said that India wants extensive action under three columns – security, contact and opportunity.

Earlier on Sunday, PM Modi held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the summit of SCO leaders, during which the two leaders welcomed positive speed and stable progress in bilateral relations since their previous meeting in Kazan on the occasion of BRICS Summit in October 2024.

Both of them emphasized that both countries are development partners, not rivals and their differences should not change into controversies.

He called for a stable relationship and cooperation based on mutual respect, mutual interest and mutual sensitivity between India and China, which is essential for a multiproof world and multipolar Asia, along with the growth and development of the two countries, as well as the 21st century trends.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met several world leaders on the sidelines of the reception of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin.

He interacted with leaders of South East Asia, Central Asia and Eurasia and highlighted India’s commitment to increase cooperation in various fields. These included leaders of Maldives, Nepal, Laos, Vietnam, Armenia and Turkmenistan.

Prior to his visit to China, Prime Minister Modi was on a two-day visit to Japan, during which he attended the India-Japan annual summit. He appreciated the positive results of his Tokyo visit and hoped that India-Japan relations would touch new heights in the coming times.
