Saudi Arabia has given big relief to those passengers who are stuck at the airport due to regional tensions. On the instructions of King Salman, the Mecca Chamber has prepared 2,500 hotel rooms where travelers will be accommodated for free. This decision has been taken for those citizens who are unable to return to their homes due to the closure of flights. The administration has ordered to make complete arrangements for accommodation and food for the passengers at government expense.

This facility is only for citizens of GCC countries i.e. UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman. People who are stranded at Saudi airports can call the Passport Department (Jawazat) number 992 or the emergency number 911. The administration has made it clear that until the situation becomes normal and flights start, these guests will be taken full care of. Apart from this, mobile companies have also provided the facility of three days of free international calls for the passengers so that they can talk to their homes.

Abdulmohsen Al-Azlan, chairman of the hotel and tourism committee of the Mecca Chamber of Commerce, said that 2,500 rooms have been fully prepared.
