The body of Congress leader Veer Kamlesh Singh, who was out on election campaign in Rohtas district, has been found under suspicious circumstances. On Sunday morning, panic spread across the area after seeing his blood-soaked body near Karamdiha village in Nowhatta. This incident is also serious because the condition of the dead body of the Congress leader indicates the possibility of his murder. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. The police are waiting for the report, but tension is clearly visible between the leaders and the local people.
The condition of the dead body deepens the mystery: murder or accident?
When the body of Congress leader Veer Kamlesh Singh (63), a resident of Tipa, was recovered, the scene was horrifying. Part of his head was submerged in water on the roadside, blood had pooled near his eyebrow and one of his teeth was also broken. There were deep injury marks on the body pointing towards murder, but the police are currently avoiding reaching any conclusion. It is said that late on Saturday evening, Kamlesh Singh had gone towards Baijalpur with party pamphlets. He was seen sitting near a culvert located at some distance from the incident site at around 7 pm. But when he did not return home at night, the family did not investigate further.
Addiction, publicity or enmity: family and police confused
The matter became even more complicated after knowing the reason for Congress leader Kamlesh Singh not returning home at night. Family members and villagers told the SDPO that Kamlesh Singh had no enmity with anyone. However, he also revealed that he used to consume drugs and sometimes did not return home at night. Since this was the election campaign season, he would often campaign at night and stay there. For this reason even the family members did not search for him. When his dead body was found in the north direction of Karamdiha village on Sunday morning, there was chaos in the family.
SDPO 2 Vandana Mishra said that at present the police has sent the body for post-mortem and investigation is being done from every angle. He clearly said that it would be possible to say anything in the matter only after the post mortem report comes. It is not yet clear whether it is an accident, murder or death due to falling while intoxicated. However, a senior leader being found dead under such suspicious circumstances amid the election campaign is creating tension in the electoral politics of Rohtas district.
