Pakistan’s Army Chief General Aseem Munir has said that he has no ambition in the political scenario of his country and considers himself a servant of the state only.
A Pakistani media outlet, Jung Media Group columnist Suhail Varaich, in an article published on Saturday, claimed that the Pakistan Army Chief had talked to him personally during a recent meeting in Belgium’s Brussels after his visit to the United States.
The columnist said that Munir had told the stage in a gathering in Brussels that: “God has made me the protector of the country. I do not wish for any other position other than that.”
According to Pakistan -based newspaper, Munir said, “I am a soldier and my biggest wish is martyrdom.”
This comment of Pakistan’s Army Chief has come at a time when examples are constantly coming out that the Pakistani political system has faced military intervention, Munir clearly rejected such speculation.
The Saturday column of Varach states, “The conversation started with politics and especially on the rumors that work towards changing the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan is being done. General Aseem Munir said clearly in the Brussels meeting and in a two -hour meeting with me that rumors of change are completely false.”
Munir also said that such claims of leadership change in Pakistan have not been made by civil or military agencies, but by elements that want to destabilize the political system in the country.
The Pakistan -based Dawn newspaper, citing the war media column, said that the Pakistani army chief had “warned” against destabilizing Pakistan’s peace through the use of “proxy”, and also warned Afghanistan against “pushing the Taliban into Pakistan”, otherwise it would be responded to.
Varaich said, “He said that we have shown compassion and favor to the Afghans over the years, but instead of repaying them, a conspiracy is being hatched against us with India.”
The columnist said that the Pakistani army chief has also prepared a “ambitious” roadmap for the purpose of replacing Pakistan. In which unused capacity in the mineral sector is pointed.
In an interview to the Daily war, Munir said, “Pakistan has a treasure of rare earth; This treasure will also reduce Pakistan’s debt and Pakistan will soon be counted among the most prosperous societies.”
Munir specifically predicted the RECO Dik Mining Project and predicted that from next year the country would have a net profit of at least two billion dollars annually from the project, and this figure will increase year after year.
Munir expressed confidence in maintaining balance between the US and China. “We will not sacrifice another friend for a friend,” the Daily Jung’s columnist quoted Munir as saying.
