Former Prime Minister of Nepal and CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli has made a public statement for the first time after his resignation. Oli, who came out three weeks after the violent Gen-Z movement, accused the protesters of inciting violence, not “intruders”. Oli also said that he is being made a sacrifice of sacrifice.

He said that the inquiry committee will bring out the truth and is innocent. Oli, who arrived in the party program in Bhaktapur amidst security siege, said, “On the afternoon of September 8, when you (Jane-Z protesters) reached the barricade near Everest Hotel, some intruders also joined the crowd.

Gen-Z movement background

This movement started by the youth was originally demanding the removal of anti -corruption and social media ban. But on 8-9 September it became the most bloody movement in Nepal’s democratic history. 74 people died in police action, most of whom were students. On September 8, 21 people died and 39 people were killed the next day.

According to the postmortem report, the dead were shot in the head and chest, while the police are allowed only to shoot below the knee as per rule. Opposition and former ministers of Oli’s government allege that they late in resignation and that is why more lives.

Meanwhile, Oli resigned as Prime Minister on the morning of 9 September due to continuous criticism and increasing violence. He was followed by the responsibility of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as an interim Prime Minister.

However, in his statement, Oli stunned the allegations against himself and said that he did not let the situation deteriorate but tried to control them. “Our new generations do not do violence by clinging to the national flag. Burning government buildings or attacking courts is not a culture of Jane-Z.

He also targeted the interim government and described efforts to stop foreign travel and block passports as “political revenge”.

Oli claimed that his murder is being threatened on social media and his home address is being made public. He said, “The government is making me unsafe instead of giving security. I am being made a sacrifice of sacrifice, while I did not order anyone to shoot.”

Explain that Parliament has been dissolved in Nepal and elections are proposed in March 2026. Meanwhile, this first public statement of Oli is considered to be an attempt to return his political back, although his path does not look easy amid public anger and pressure from the younger generation.
