Patna, July 19 (). JDU MLA Shyam Rajak expressed his opinion on many issues including Bankipur Assembly by-election, election absence of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, Delimitation Bill.
On the question of Tejashwi Yadav not coming to campaign in the Bankipur assembly by-election, Shyam Rajak told news agency that there are a large number of candidates in the election fray and all are claiming their victory. Only his party’s candidate Rekha Gupta can answer why Tejashwi Yadav is not coming.
He taunted and said that Tejashwi Yadav has left his candidate alone in the election field, while he himself is busy somewhere else. The candidate is fighting alone and elections are not fought like this. The opposition only does its own politics and leaves the candidates to fend for themselves after serving their own interests.
Describing Bankipur assembly seat as a strong stronghold of NDA, Shyam Rajak said that first Nitin Naveen was an MLA from here, later became a minister and then became the national president of BJP. Before Nitin Naveen, his father Naveen Kishore Prasad Sinha had also represented this area many times.
JDU MLA expressed confidence that the people of Bankipur are waiting for 30th, when they will press the lotus symbol button on EVM and make BJP candidate Neeraj Sinha victorious by huge votes and set a new record.
On the allegations of horse trading made by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh regarding the Delimitation Bill, Shyam Rajak said that Congress has a long history of making such allegations. People who are joining any party are coming of their own free will, there is no horse-trading involved. Congress does not have the courage to oppose this bill democratically, hence it is making baseless allegations. He said that this bill has been brought in the interest of the people of the country, not to establish any dictatorial system. On the contrary, he described the Congress leaders as having dictatorial mentality.
Giving his opinion on the Delimitation Bill, Shyam Rajak said that delimitation is a time bound process which happens from time to time. As the population increases, the size of Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies is also decided on the basis of population. Today many assembly constituencies have 4 to 5 lakh people, while the population of many Lok Sabha constituencies has reached 16 to 17 lakh, hence delimitation is necessary. After the bill is passed by Parliament, a committee will be formed, which will include members of the ruling party, opposition and other political parties. This committee together will take the entire process of delimitation forward.
On the issue of merger of Uddhav Thackeray faction MPs into Shinde-led Shiv Sena and separate seating arrangements for rebel TMC MPs in Parliament, Shyam Rajak said that after the implementation of the anti-defection law, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha have full authority to take decisions under it.
He said that if the MPs collectively express their desire to merge with another party and it is found appropriate on the basis of majority, then the Speaker of the Lok Sabha has the right to accept that merger and complete the process. Similarly, if TMC MPs demand to sit separately on the basis of majority, the Speaker can allow them to sit separately.
On the issue of social activist Sonam Wangchuk, Shyam Rajak said that he has good relations with her and he respects her. He said that earlier too he had been appealed to end his hunger strike and continue his struggle through other democratic means, but when he did not do so, it became the responsibility of the government to protect his health. For this very purpose, he was admitted to the hospital, so that his health remains safe.
Shyam Rajak launched a scathing attack on Congress on the question of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi criticizing the Center for removing Sonam Wangchuk from her hunger strike. He said who was in power in the year 1974 and whose government was the country at the time of Operation Blue Star. Congress ruled with the help of violence, sent people to jail and lost many lives. Today the same Congress is accusing those people of violence who talk about following Mahatma Gandhi’s path of non-violence. Congress leaders have dictatorial thinking and their comments are so baseless that it is not even necessary to respond to them.
