New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth Rs 33,500 crore in the national capital Delhi. He said that Delhi is not just the capital of India, it is a symbol of India’s identity and energy. The development of Delhi is not just the development of one city, it is linked to the image of the entire country.
Addressing the program, Prime Minister Modi said that when any person in the world thinks of a huge democracy like India, the picture of Delhi often comes to his mind. We all have gathered here to give a new impetus to development in Delhi. The Prime Minister said, “The foundation stone of projects worth Rs 33,500 crore has been laid and inaugurated here. From the expansion of the Metro to the residences of thousands of government employees, the facilities in the country’s capital are continuously expanding, a new strength is being given. The result of the new hope and determination with which you people formed the BJP government in Delhi a year ago is visible here today. I congratulate all the citizens of Delhi for this continuous stream of development.”
He said that Delhi has been connected to Meerut through a fast train like Namo Bharat a few days ago. This has made travel between Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh easier. Today, with the commencement of Metro Phase-4, the network of Delhi Metro has reached beyond 375 kilometers. Even big cities of the world do not have such a large metro network.
PM Modi further said that the new section of the metro which has started today is going to provide great facilities to lakhs of people of the capital. Especially for the people of East and North-East Delhi, now the daily journey will be easier than before. With all this, it will become easier to travel to different parts of Delhi from NCR cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram.
Two new corridors of Delhi Metro were inaugurated on Sunday. These include Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) corridor of about 12.3 km and Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line) corridor of about 9.9 km. Many areas of Delhi including Burari, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Madhuban Chowk, Haiderpur Badli Mod, Bhalswa, Majlis Park will benefit from the new connectivity.
The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of three new corridors of approximately 16.10 km length under Phase 4 of Delhi Metro. These three new corridors are RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. These corridors will provide direct connectivity to many important locations in the national capital and improve connectivity for residents traveling between Noida, South Delhi and the airport.
