Police have intensified efforts to arrest the accused in the incident of firing and robbery that took place in Kotmi weekly market in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh. Considering the seriousness of the case, Bilaspur Range Inspector General of Police (IG) Ram Gopal Garg has increased the reward amount announced on the accused to Rs 30 thousand. According to the information, on May 26, businessman Pradeep Soni was targeted by unknown miscreants in the Kotmi weekly market. After firing at them, the accused looted gold and silver jewelery and fled from the spot. There was a stir in the area after the incident. The injured businessman was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, while the police reached the spot and started investigation. In this case, Pendra Police has registered an offense under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and Arms Act. Since the incident, the police is continuously searching for the accused. Raids have been conducted at many places and the suspects are also being interrogated. But, till now the accused are out of the reach of the police.
In order to ensure early arrest of the accused and to get cooperation from the people, Bilaspur Range IG Ram Gopal Garg has increased the reward of Rs 5,000 announced earlier to Rs 30,000. Police believe that increasing the reward amount may reveal important information related to the case.
At the same time, the police has appealed to the common citizens that if any person has any reliable information, photo or video related to the accused, then they should immediately provide it to the police. The person giving such accurate and useful information will be given a cash reward of Rs 30,000.
Police officials have clarified that the name and identity of the person giving information will be kept completely confidential. Officials hope that with the cooperation of the public, the accused will soon be arrested and handed over to the law.
