Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 21 (IANS). Nurses of Ghati Hospital, under the banner of Maharashtra Government Nurses Federation, protested against administrative transfer orders on Thursday. The protesting nurses demanded the government to immediately withdraw the transfer process. During this, loud slogans were raised against the government.
During the protest, the nurses said that due to frequent transfers, the employees, especially the women employees, have to face a lot of problems. Transfers every three years affect family and social life.
President of Nurses Federation Maharashtra, Indumati said that most of the women are working in the nursing profession and their transfer affects the entire family. Many nurses have small children and also take care of their elderly parents and in-laws. In such a situation, many practical problems arise for women due to transfer.
He said that no nurse is accused of corruption or any financial irregularity, yet transfers are being made. He appealed to the government to reconsider this decision and withdraw it.
Meanwhile, staff member Makrand said that we have come out on the streets against the transfers being done by the government. Valley Hospital already has internal transfers happening at the ward level every two-three years. The transfer of nurses is not linked to any economic benefit or payment system, hence such a blanket transfer process is not justified. The objective behind this step of the government is not clear.
He further said that if such transfers are implemented, it will directly impact the women employees and their families. Due to transfer, we will have to shift to another place with our entire family. The government should keep us out of the transfer process. The government should issue an order in this regard.
The protesting nurses warned that if the government did not pay attention to their demands, the agitation would be further intensified.
