Ranchi, June 11 (IANS). BJP MLA CP Singh launched a scathing attack on Congress regarding the NITI Aayog meeting, Rajya Sabha elections to be held in Jharkhand, the possibility of Rahul Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister and the Grihalakshmi scheme. He accused Congress of breaking promises, appeasement politics and putting unnecessary pressure on democratic institutions.
Regarding the NITI Aayog meeting, CP Singh said that such meetings are held from time to time and it is a part of a regular process. Naturally it is presided over by the Prime Minister of the country. Officials of NITI Aayog attend it and Chief Ministers of various states also participate in the meeting. The Chief Minister raises the issues related to the states and after that the NITI Aayog takes further action on those subjects. It is a routine meeting, which is held from time to time.
Regarding the Rajya Sabha elections in Jharkhand, he said that in democracy every eligible citizen has the right to contest elections. If a person has the required number of proposers, is a citizen of India, has his name in the voter list, is not insolvent and is mentally healthy, he can file nomination.
Jharkhand Assembly remained a political battlefield on Wednesday regarding Rajya Sabha elections. On this he said that it is shameful for the workers under the leadership of Congress ministers to stage a protest and raise slogans in the portico of the Assembly. He said that being an MLA, his presence inside the Assembly is understandable, but it is inappropriate to hold such a demonstration against outsiders. Action should be taken in such cases. The Assembly Secretary plays the role of Returning Officer in the Rajya Sabha elections and in such a situation it is completely wrong to accuse him. The law will take its course and the Returning Officer will discharge his duties with full devotion.
The BJP MLA took a sarcasm while reacting to West Bengal Congress President Subhankar Sarkar’s statement on seeing Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Minister. He said that if he is the state Congress president, he will say such things. But Congress should stop dreaming of turning a donkey into a horse.
CP Singh also attacked Congress regarding Grihalakshmi scheme. He said that Congress makes big promises during elections, but does not fulfill them. He raised the question whether Congress has fulfilled the promises made in Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand? He alleged that Congress has only been doing appeasement politics and tries to win elections by dividing the society into different classes. Congress cannot do good to anyone. The public should now understand that there is a big difference between the promises and reality of Congress.
