Patna, July 19 (IANS). Union Minister Giriraj Singh and BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the opposition and appealed to the opposition to play a positive and responsible role in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament.
In Patna, Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused Rahul Gandhi of doing politics of dynasticism. Speaking to IANS, he said that the entire country and the world knows that Rahul Gandhi is a symbol of dynastic politics. His allegation was that Rahul Gandhi believes that no one outside the Nehru family has the right to do politics.
Giriraj Singh said that Rahul Gandhi’s biggest weakness is his thinking. Rahul Gandhi believes that only the Nehru family has the right to political power. He said that Rahul Gandhi is troubled by the fact that Narendra Modi, who once sold tea, is today the Prime Minister of the country.
Referring to democracy, Giriraj Singh said that in India, the Prime Minister is not elected from any royal family, but from among the people. He said that this is not a monarchy, but a democracy and the Prime Minister is the representative of the people. It is the common responsibility of all political parties to keep the democratic system strong, run the Parliament smoothly and work in the public interest.
On the other hand, BJP’s national spokesperson in Delhi Shahnawaz Hussain claimed regarding the Bankipur by-election that BJP will win with an overwhelming majority. He said that Prashant Kishor’s real challenge is to surpass the figure of around 8,000 votes he got last time and save his deposit.
Shahnawaz Hussain raised questions on Congress regarding Rahul Gandhi’s statement on the issue of Sonam Wangchuk. He said that when Sonam Wangchuk was agitating and hunger striking at Jantar Mantar, Rahul Gandhi was on Europe tour. He claimed that if Rahul Gandhi wanted, he could have cut short his foreign tour and met him, but he did not do so. He alleged that now Rahul Gandhi is trying to give clarification on this issue.
Regarding the upcoming monsoon session, Shahnawaz Hussain said that it will be a very important session for the country, because many important bills are likely to be discussed and passed in it. He expressed hope that this time the opposition will cooperate constructively on bills related to national interest instead of creating disruption in the proceedings of the House.
He said that the more smoothly Parliament runs, the more opportunities the opposition will get to present their views and participate in the debate. He said that all parties, including the newly formed party with 20 MPs, will be invited to the all-party meeting, so that everyone’s participation can be ensured.
