Bahubali Munna Shukla Daughter Shivani Shukla: The politics of Bihar is at its peak these days. There is election discussion in every street and locality, and in this heated atmosphere, the name of Anant Singh from Mokama is in discussion and at the same time another name is in the headlines. She is Shivani Shukla. This daughter of former MLA Munna Shukla, who was once called ‘Bahubali’, has now entered the field of politics. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has made him its candidate from Lalganj assembly seat of Vaishali district.
After returning from London, she entered the politics of Lalganj.
At the age of just 28, Shivani Shukla has set an example in education and career. After studying at Delhi Public School, RKpuram, he obtained BA-LLB degree from Alliance University, Bengaluru and then completed LLM from University of Leeds, London. People say, “Shivani has now come into politics with brain power and not muscle power.” This means that this time efforts have started to write a new story of education and development in Lalganj.
limited assets, big dreams
The other aspect of Shivani Shukla’s life is equally interesting. According to the election affidavit, he has movable assets worth around ₹21 lakh, but no immovable assets. Whereas her husband Varun Tiwari has ₹ 48,900 in cash. Shivani had taken an education loan of more than ₹36 lakh for her foreign studies, which she is currently repaying. This shows that she has neither entered the field with the help of any huge property, nor any luxury in the name of inheritance, but with the help of her own strength and dreams.
Munna Shukla’s legacy on daughter’s shoulders
Whenever the name of Lalganj’s politics comes up, it is natural to mention Munna Shukla. At one time this seat was considered the stronghold of strongmen. Munna Shukla surprised everyone by winning the election as an independent candidate from jail in 2000. Later he became MLA from Lok Janshakti Party and then JDU. His wife Anu Shukla also won the assembly elections in 2010. Now this political legacy rests on the shoulders of Shivani Shukla. She is going from village to village and meeting people, making youth and women the center of her politics.
She says, “I have come into politics with ideas, not weapons. I want to give a new direction to Lalganj through education and employment.”
There is a ruckus in the grand alliance
There is a stir within the Grand Alliance (INDIA Bloc) due to Shivani’s entry. Because while RJD has given him ticket from Lalganj, Congress has also fielded Aditya Kumar Raja from the same seat. With this, the contest has now become direct within the Grand Alliance itself. In the meeting held at Shivani’s house on October 16, her supporters even advised her to contest the elections as an independent, but she maintained her decision to contest the elections on the RJD symbol. Now if Shivani wins, it will not only be the return of Munna Shukla family, but will also prove to be the strong entry of the new generation in Bihar politics.
