The airline said the company is aware of screenshots of last-minute itineraries taken from third-party platforms for one-stop or two-stop flights, combinations of economy and premium economy or business cabins.
To this, an Air India spokesperson said, “It is not technically possible to limit all such changes, but we are monitoring such platforms.”
Apart from this, Air India spokesperson said that efforts are being made by Air India and Air India Express to increase the capacity to help the passengers and get their luggage to their destination as soon as possible.
Earlier, it was informed by the Civil Aviation Ministry that the Ministry has issued official instructions to all the airlines that the prescribed fare limit should be strictly followed.
The Ministry had informed that this step is being taken to ensure fair and reasonable fares on all the affected routes amid the operational crisis of IndiGo.
The ministry also said that in this current time of India crisis, there should be strict monitoring of the fair level.
“The Ministry will continue to closely monitor fare levels through real-time data and active coordination with airlines and online travel platforms. Any conduct deviating from the prescribed standards will be subject to immediate corrective action in the larger public interest,” the ministry said in a statement.
