New Delhi, 27 September (IANS). Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) launched Bharat Telecom Stack on Saturday. This network will first connect more than 26,700 villages to high-speed internet connectivity. Launched by BSNL, this network is a modern and safe solution, which is fully developed in the country itself.
The network has been developed in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and Tejas Network Limited.
With this launch, India has become the fifth country in the world, which has created an indigenous telecom technology stack for 4G and beyond technology.
TCS said in a statement, “As a mission mode program, TCS set up data centers by installing data centers EPC core application, installing and turning on radio infrastructure of Tejas on 100,000 sites and using TCS’s cognitive network operation platforms for 24×7 real-time network management.
Now more than 2.2 crore citizens will get 4G data at affordable rates. Apart from this, people from rural areas will now be able to avail services such as digital learning, smart farming tools and 24×7 telemedicine.
BSNL CMD A. Robert J. Ravi said, “Today, we are celebrating a major achievement for national pride. Our indigenous 4G network created in collaboration with TCS, Tejas Network and C-DOT is a great declaration of self-sufficient India.”
This initiative is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digitally connected and self -reliant India’s point of view.
N.K. Ganpati Subramaniam said, “We are proud that we have included India in the list of select countries that have developed a wide, reliable and software upgradable telecom technology stack. Its successful implementation in BSNL is historic and important in bringing benefits of a powerful data and voice network to all corners of the country.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also wrote on the social media platform X, “I am proud to join the telecom sector of India on this historic day with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa. PM Modi dedicated the country completely indigenous 4G technology and more than 97,500 indigenous 4G towers.”
He added, “It was a matter of pride to be a part of this golden stop in BSNL’s 25 -year spectacular journey. As a historic achievement, more than 97,500 telecom towers are being installed across India, which are made of completely indigenous technology.”
Union Minister Scindia said that this would strengthen connectivity in far-flung villages, border areas and Maoist affected areas, which will give 100 percent 4G coverage to every citizen, strengthen communities digitally and people’s lives will change.
