The Saudi Cabinet met on 10 March 2026 under the chairmanship of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. An important decision has been approved in this meeting. An agreement (MoU) between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain on sustainable development has been officially approved. This agreement has been made between the two countries keeping in mind the regional economic stability and environment.

What will be the focus in this agreement?
Under this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Ministry of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Sustainable Development of Bahrain will work together. The main points of this cooperation are as follows:
Technical Knowledge Sharing: Both the countries will share their technology and best practices with each other for sustainable development.
Capacity building: The skills of the employees working in ministries will be improved so that they can easily handle new projects.
Creating a new policy: New policies will be made together to meet the needs of the future economy and environment.
Data Exchange: A strong system will be prepared to monitor the development works and prepare reports.
Why is this step important for Saudi Vision 2030?
The agreement was originally signed during the fourth meeting of the Saudi-Bahrain Coordination Council in December 2025. Now the Saudi Cabinet has approved its full implementation legally and administratively, so that work on it can begin.
Officials say that this step strengthens the old and historical relations between the two countries. Along with this, this agreement is completely in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and Bahrain’s development goals. Its main objective is to create a strong economy in the region and promote investment in green sectors.
