Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday prayed to Mother Cow on the occasion of Govardhan Puja at the Gaushala located at the Chief Minister’s residence and wished for the happiness, prosperity and public welfare of the state. The Chief Minister said that Govardhan Puja reflects nature conservation and love between humans and animals. This festival also gives us the message to remain sensitive towards our traditions, culture and environment.
The Chief Minister said that cow has got the status of mother in Hindu religion. Mother cow is an integral part of Sanatan culture and agricultural life. Their service and protection, furthers our lives. Many families earn their living from cow rearing and cow service. Cow-culture is not only linked to religious sentiments but is also linked to livelihood and self-reliance. The Chief Minister appealed to everyone that we all should together make efforts for the service, protection and protection of cows. He said that the state government is promoting the construction and operation of Gau Sadans for destitute cattle.
Pushkar Singh Dhami said that earlier Rs 5 per animal per day was given for the maintenance of destitute animals (which are being reared in cow sheds) in the state, now it has been increased to Rs 80 per animal/per day. The state government has made a provision to give 60 percent subsidy in the construction of private cow sheds. He said that the construction work of about 54 Gau Sadans is going on in the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government will continue to work for cow protection in future also.
