Chhattisgarh news: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today declared several new initiatives, emphasizing the honor and care of the elderly at the State Level Program of International Older Conscious Day of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in the capital Raipur. The Chief Minister said that the elderly are the guide of our society and the carriers of invaluable culture, which is the common responsibility of the government and the society to take care of it. The Chief Minister honored the elderly by offering shawls and quince in the program. He informed that the state government is continuously working on new schemes for the honor and security of the elderly. On this occasion, he announced the Sian Gudi scheme, under which modern and well -equipped old age homes will be built on PPP models in Raipur, Bilaspur, Korba and Durg. In addition, a special service center will be set up in the capital Raipur to repair the accessories of the disabled.

The life of the elderly will be happy

The Chief Minister said that Vriddhajan Day reminds us of duties towards our elders. He said, “My guru taught me that the service of parents is the worship of God. We should not forget that our elders will be in the same position tomorrow, tomorrow.” Sai appealed to the public to respect the elderly and cooperate in getting them the benefit of government schemes, so that their lives can be safe, respectable and happy.

Problems of elderly were treated

On this occasion, the Chief Minister referred to benefit more than 14 lakh elderly people under pension schemes in the state. He said that under Ayushman Bharat and Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Health Assistance Scheme, more than 8 lakh elders have been provided free medical facilities. At the same time, the Chief Minister also cited the pilgrimage scheme and Ramlala Darshan Yojana, through which more than 50 thousand elders have been benefited. Samaj Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade said that 1049 senior citizens are being taken care of in 35 old age homes in the state and the adornment house is operated in 6 districts. He said that the problems of more than 54 thousand elders have been solved so far through the departmental helpline.

Senior officer was present

In the program, the Chief Minister flagged off 25 de -addiction chariots to spread awareness across the state under the drug -free Bharat Abhiyan. Chhattisgarhi folk songs and dances were performed in the program and a health check -up camp was also organized. Many public representatives, dignitaries and senior officials were present on the occasion, including Minister Tankaram Verma, MP Brijmohan Agrawal, MLA Rajesh Munat, Munat, Motilal Sahu, Indra Kumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma, and Chairman of Chhattisgarh Disabled Finance Development Corporation, Lokesh Kavadia.

Start of tourism partner initiative for youth

During the program, the Chief Minister signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the district administration and the Ease My Trip for the tourism fellow initiative. Under this initiative, the youth will be trained as a tour guide at ITI Saddu. The training program will be of three months and 50 youth per batch will be included in it. The Chief Minister appreciated this initiative and said that it will open new employment opportunities for the youth and will boost tourism in the state. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai made it clear on the occasion that the state government’s commitment for the safety, respect and health of the elderly is firm. Efforts will be continued to make the life of the elderly more dignified through new social and health welfare programs, along with improving the schemes being run by the central and state governments.
